We went to Wal-Mart yesterday. Fairly uneventful, right? Yeah, if you think so, you've not been reading here very long. When we were leaving we spotted a chicken pecking about in the grass at the side of the parking lot. A cool chicken. A "WILD" chicken someone in our car was heard to say... She looked a lot like this fancy show bird photo I found online.
As we were driving by Mr. Incredible casually asked, "what would you do with her?" I said, "We have a cat carrier in the back..." And, living up to his name, he turned the car around. Which is how we came to be calmly "chasing" a chicken through a ditch at Wal-Mart at 6 on a Sunday. Much to the amusement of other shoppers, I'm pretty sure.
Unfortunately, in the words of a wise-beyond-his-sarcastic-years hispanic youth who drove by, "Hey lady! that ees one FAASST cheek-en!!" She proved to be the one that got away. Up into a nearby tree. Where she clucked out her victory as we walked away in defeat. If only the guy with the bass boat had loaned us his net!!
