June...

Wow.  Almost two months since I posted!  Maybe I should rename my blog, "Life Gets Busy." Hopefully it will slow down soon, like, maybe in July.  I hate doing those list posts where I say, "here's the insanity I've been up to..." but sometimes they are the most appropriate -like when I've not blogged in 2 months-  so here goes.

May:
  • The Farmers Market started in May, and is keeping us busy every Friday morning, but since it's a great time to go hang out with our market friends, it's a welcome spot on our calendar.
  • With that, our garden is booming, and about to explode with 'maters, and that's where I'm spending what little free time I can find right now.
  • Also around our "barnyard" we moved the kennels next to the garden to free up driveway space, and make the whole thing seem more organized.  One is for the 3 dogs, of course, and the other provides them with "Chick TV" since our 11 teen chickens are in there, and now so is Big Mama & her 4 little chicks.  Oh, and the 4 rabbits are there as well.
  • We also picked up this year's cow, and he's quite happy in our freezer, along with the fruits and veggies we've put up so far.  Tasty, too!
  • We had a great visit with Leigh-Ann and Mellie, who came over for Little Bit's ballet recital, and to pick up their own moo...
  • Peanut went to overnight 4-H camp, and had a great time, and is already talking about wanting to go to the week long camp next year.
  • The girls and I pitched a tent in the driveway, built a fire pit, invited their best friends, and had an all girls camp-out weekend under the stars.
June:

  • The girls have been attending Camp Gym Rat at Tumble U, and having a great time, despite the heat and a Tony-Hawk-style digger taken by Little Bit.  They're also practicing for an exhibition in July.
  • I have also been going to gymnastics camp, but I'm there working.  Vicki asked me to help with the pre-schoolers in a job shadow environment on Tuesdays, and I'm manning the desk on Wednesdays while our girls are there, and still doing that on Thursday nights during their lessons, also.  This week, I also helped with the Mommy & Me class, and Vicki and I are talking about me becoming a certified preschool instructor.  I'm loving it.
  • The ladies have had several sleep-overs, and this week had a girly trip to the mall in Chattanooga, with Ms. Melissa which was very fun for them, and it allowed Mr. Incredible and I to spend a little time together as well.
  • We rounded out our activities this last week with me serving lunch at the Senior Center, The Farmers Market, of course, and VBS at 1st Baptist in Tullahoma.  I helped Vicki with her preschool class, and the girls had lots of "Saddle Ridge Ranch" fun as well.
  • In the meantime, Mr. Incredible has been saving the world, one internet connection at a time, working his regular job on the weekend, and in his "spare" time (as in there's not much of it...) he has almost finished the roof on the shop, built me a flower bed, hung a gate, and put solar lights out in the garden.
I have tried to take pics of all of this, and so has Curly Sue, but we think she deleted all hers by accident last night, and mine are on a camera card somewhere, and well, it's 3 am, so I'm not going looking right now... (this blog post powered by too much coffee and sweet tea...)

We're gearing up for the home stretch, as we still have a birthday to celebrate next week, and then Deb & Bill are coming for a visit the last week of the month.  So, if I get a chance, I'll post pics soon, but please forgive me if it takes me a bit.  Thanks for sticking with me to the end of this post... I hope everyone is having a great summer!
